Winona S. Junkin, age 88, passed away on May 30, 2021, in Cartersville, Georgia.
Winona was born November 15, 1932, in Thomaston, Georgia to the late Walter and Bertice Saturday.
Winona led a full life. She was a proud member of the Magnolia Garden Club and also taught Sunday School. She spent her spare time cross stitching and also enjoyed displaying Christmas decorations during the holiday, bird watching and putting together puzzles. Winona had a love for music as well. She listened to Classical music as well as Gospel. She was loved by all who new her and will truly be missed.
Along with her parents, Winona Junkin is preceded in death by husband, William T. Junkin Sr.
She is survived by sons, Charles (Teresa) Junkin and Christopher Junkin; stepsons, Willam (Patricia) Junkin Jr. and Robert (Martha) Junkin; sister, Sandra (William) Davey; and 4 grandchildren, Kristin Junkin, Steven Simmons, Brandon Junkin and Andrew Junkin.
The family would like to give a big Thank You to Waldrop Residences for the excellent care and support they have provided. Waldrop has gone beyond the call of duty to care for Winona and it is greatly appreciated.
The family accepted friends for visitation Thursday, June 3, 2021, from 1-2 pm at Owen Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held thereafter.
