Virginia Elizabeth Turner Brookshire Fulton passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 1, 2022.
Virginia was born in Taylorsville, GA, daughter of the late Grady Andrew Turner and Fannie Elizabeth Popham Turner.
Virginia was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Cartersville, GA, where she was a member of the Omega Sunday School Class and also served on the Good Shepherd Hospitality Committee. She retired from Bellsouth/AT&T. She was an active member of the CWA Labor Union. Virginia served as the chairman for the Georgia State Legislative Committee for twelve years.
She is preceded in death by five brothers, David H. Turner (Fanny Dee), Grady Wallace Turner (Ruth), Ralph W. Turner (Martha), Houston L. Turner (Mary Lee) and Daniel W. Turner (Mag); sister, Wilma Mozelle Turner Towe (Cliff); sister-in-law, Bette Davis Turner; niece, Sandra Gunn; nephew, Wayne P. Turner, Jr.
She is survived by her three children, Jere Lee Brookshire (Kay) of Atlanta, GA, Deborah Brookshire Ray (Wayne) of Cartersville, GA and Joy Lynn Brookshire of Kennesaw; four grandchildren, April Denise Burns of Kennesaw, GA, Michael Darrin Burns (Kim) of Euharlee, GA, Kristen Anderson (Scott) of Black Mountain, NC and Katie Huskins of Cartersville, GA; four great-grandchildren, Sophia Anderson, Scott Allen, Caleb Waldrop and Jackson Gatti; brother, Wayne P. Turner, Sr.; a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 29th of January 2022 at Heritage Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Tutterow officiating.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family for two hours prior to service time at the church.
