Mr. Vernon Rogers Hardin, 86, of 112 Hardin Road, NW, Adairsville, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022, at his residence. 

He was born in Adairsville, GA, March 10, 1936, son of the late A. J. and Rilla Avie King Hardin. Mr. Hardin was of the Christian faith and had been a cabinetmaker. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and spending time with family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Louise Fortner Hardin, a son, Roger Hardin, and a great grandson, Straton Bennett.

Survivors include his two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward Lee (Rebecca Ann) Hardin of Cartersville, and Russell Dewayne (Renita) Hardin of Adairsville; a daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda (Donald) Martin of Adairsville; a sister, Carole O’Steen of Lakeland, FL; 10 grandchildren, Shane Hardin (Haylee), Misty Foster (Zack), Christy Simerly (Lee), Scooter Hazelwood (Megan), Amanda Lucy Hall (Jason), Jessica  Lemaire (Chris), J. R.  Hardin (Heather), Dewayne Hardin (Lindsey), C. J.  Hardin (Casey), and Austin Hardin (Tanner); 19 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 2:00 PM from Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville with Rev. Russell “Bug” Hardin, Rev. Michael Abernathy and Rev. Jim Pinkard officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers include Jason Hall, Scooter Hazelwood, Shane Hardin, J. R. Hardin, Dewayne Hardin, and C. J. Hardin. Austin Hardin will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
