Robert R. Paust

Robert R. Paust, age 74, passed away on April 4, 2022, at Piedmont Hospital, Atlanta where he was life flighted from Cartersville, GA after he had a heart attack.

Bob was born in Yonkers, New York, and moved to Bethel, Connecticut, where he lived until he graduated from Immaculate High School in 1966. He served in the Army from 1968-1970. While in the Army he became a Sergeant in the Military Police. 

He married Maureen McDonnell Paust in April 1970 and joined the Danbury Police Department, also in 1970. He served on the Danbury Police Department until 1979 when he moved to Georgia and joined his father-in-law in a woodworking business that they later sold.

Bob subsequently moved into sales and sold automated sewing equipment to the apparel and mattress industries. He traveled the globe selling automated equipment and becoming friends with his clients. He retired from Atlanta Attachment as VP of Sales after 21 years.

Bob and Maureen moved from the east side of Atlanta to the northwest side of Atlanta to Cartersville, GA so they could be closer to their son, Jason and his wife Candace and their granddaughter Emma whom Bob adored. 

Bob loved fishing and even flew to Alaska with Jason to fish for salmon and halibut. It was a trip of a lifetime for them.

Bob is survived by his wife, Maureen, son Jason, his wife Candace and granddaughter Emma. He is also survived by his sisters Marilynn Clark and Patricia Harpole and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for May 19, 2022 at Sam Jones Memorial United Methodist Church, 100 West Church Street, Cartersville, GA 30120 at 2:00 pm. Bob will be interned at the National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
