Mr. Richard Earl Culberson, Sr., age 92, of Adairsville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday afternoon, May 11, 2022.
He was born in Adairsville, Georgia, August 19, 1929, to the late Charles Burl and Addie Green Culberson. Mr. Culberson cared deeply for his community, continuously devoting his time and service through Adairsville Baptist Church, where he was a member and deacon, and the Adairsville Lions Club, where he had served as District Governor and Council Chair. He retired from Georgia Kraft Company in Rome, GA, and was expert woodworker. Mr. Culberson enjoyed fishing and spending time with friends and family.He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Joyce Elaine Lacey Culberson; son, Brian Culberson; granddaughter, Elizabeth Lacey Culberson; brothers, Edwards and J.W. Culberson; sisters, Elizabeth Culberson, Otha Mae Herod, Ivanell Edwards, Ovelle Culberson, and Hurlene Chesser.
Survivors include his son, Rusty and Theresa Culberson; two grandchildren, Ami and Ty Jones and Sarah and Glenn Mitchell; two great-grandchildren, Piper Jones and Glenn “Q” Owen Mitchell, IV; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 14, 2022, at 1:30 PM from Adairsville Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Sorrell officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville. Members of the Adairsville Lions Club will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM.
