Richard Andrew Foster Sr., 77 of Cartersville, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018. Funeral service will be Saturday, April 28, 2018, at 1:00pm at Glory Harvester Church, 1988 Joe Frank Harris Pkwy., Cartersville, GA. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Richard Andrew Foster Sr., son of Nathan and Clara Mae Foster was born on July 29, 1940, in Woodstock, Georgia. On April 24, 2018, he was called from this earthly home to Glory.
He joined Greater New Life Christian Center and was ordained as a deacon. He was dedicated to his church. Participating in many of the activities of the church. His favorite book In the Bible was Revelations.
Richard was a loving husband and father who delighted in being surrounded by his family.
He enjoyed cooking and especially grilling, which he did regularly when friends dropped in. Many times he was called on to cater events, frying fish, fries, and chicken.
Richard was a farmer at heart, and he welcomed all to his farm. During the summer months, you could find him tending his garden and selling his produce on the side of the road. Not only did he enjoy gardening, he cared for him many animals on the farm, including an emu, a donkey, a horse and a goat.
His son, Herbert Foster III, preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving and devoted wife, Alma Foster; eight children and step-children, Richard Jr. (Carol), Jennifer, Janet (Mark), John (Patricia), Mark, Yolanda Sheerer (Terry), Andrea Smallwood, and Daniella Smallwood, 23 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
