Possible murder suspect caught in county

Two people wanted in the disappearance and death of a North Carolina man were nabbed in Northwest Georgia on Monday, with one being apprehended in Bartow County.

Authorities say Felicia Fox and Travis Bowman were arrested on Monday, with Fox being apprehended in Polk County while Bowman was arrested a short while later in Bartow County.

Both Fox and Bowman are charged with the first-degree kidnapping of 26-year-old Joshua Buchanan in North Carolina.

The body of Buchanan, who had been missing since September, was found in a shallow grave in Mitchell County, North Carolina last Friday.

Authorities in Georgia were told to be on the lookout for the suspects due to family ties in the area.

North Carolina authorities were scheduled to interview Bowman in the Bartow County Jail. Fox remains in the Polk County Jail.

In the chase that led to Bowman’s arrest, a Bartow County sheriff’s deputy suffered minor injuries when the chase ended in a two-vehicle collision.

The chase started when officials identified Bowman’s car along Taylorsville-Macedonia Road. A brief chase ensued but ended when Bowman’s car collided with a BCSO deputy’s car.

The officer, whose name was not released, suffered only minor scratches and a burn mark from the airbag’s deployment.
