Jimmy Junior Huskins

Posted
Rev. Jimmy Junior Huskins entered this life on July 14, 1945, in the city of Cartersville, Georgia. He was the son of George Washington Huskins and Ardell (Kitts) Huskins. On December 21, 1968, our dad married the love of his life, Ruth Ann Pyle. They had been married for 52 years and he called mom his darlin'.

Dad spent over three years of his life serving as an Army medic, and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam war. He was proud of his service to our country.

Dad was a hard worker and he loved to roof, and he did this for 45 years. He was also an ordained minister and a longstanding member of the Wesleyan Tabernacle Association. Our dad totally backed mom in her ministry. He loved to hunt and was very good at it. He always had a smile and he seldom complained. He dearly loved all of his family. He often would fast and pray for needs and saw to it that they invested their time and money into the Lord’s work. Dad made many sacrifices in his lifetime. He taught us kids to work hard. One of his favorite sayings was if you don’t have anything good to say about others, then don’t say it.

On Thursday night January 14, 2021, with all of his children standing by his bedside singing Amazing Grace, our father finished his course and made his peaceful entrance into Heaven.

Dad is survived by his children: son, Scott (Patricia) Huskins of White, GA; one daughter, Anna Huskins Slone of Xenia, OH; son, Jonathan Huskins of Clayton, OH; son, Daniel (Kathryn) Huskins of Arlington, OH; three brothers: Rick (Tootsie) Huskins of Kokomo, IN, Roscoe (Jeanette) Huskins of Lafayette, GA; George Washington Huskins (Jennifer) of Cartersville, GA; three sisters, Willie Mae Kitts of Knoxville, TN; Mary (Huskins) Clark of Cartersville, GA and Margaret (Huskins) & Bob Ray of White, GA; his sister-in-law, Donna Huskins; his brother-in-laws, Terry Williams, and Eddie Davidson. Dad is also survived by his grandchildren: John Micah Slone, Kaydee Huskins, Scott Alton Huskins, and Mary Kathryn Huskins.
