Jean Elizabeth Wade, 62, of Avondale, Arizona, passed away on July 25, 2020, in hospice, after a hard-fought battle with lung disease.
She was born July 19, 1958, to Hugh and Sylvia (Edmunds) Popham in Linconton, Georgia.
Jean grew up in Georgia where she resided the majority of her life. She met her loving husband Robert, whom she married September 9, 1985. They shared the love of antiquing and restoring furniture. She was a devoted Baptist and enjoyed reading her bible, doing crosswords, and watching documentaries. She moved in with her son after her husband passed away and lived with him in Hampton, Virginia, and Avondale, Arizona, before falling ill last fall.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert, and her brother, Hampton Popham.
She is survived by her son Alan (Amanda) Wade; her grandchildren, Davis and Palmer Wade; her stepdaughter, Shea Wade-Gulledge; her stepson, Shane Wade; her brothers, Don (Tam) and Charles Popham; and her nieces, Meghan (Tim) Walton and Samantha Popham.
A memorial service will be scheduled in Georgia in September. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Lung Association.
