Huston David Mulkey

Mr. Huston David Mulkey, 92 of Cartersville, GA, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2020.

Mr. Mulkey was born in Pine Log, GA, on April, 17 1928, to the late Mr. Frank Mulkey and Mrs. Melanice Burgess Mulkey.

Huston was a devoted father and loving husband. He was a devout Christian and a long time member of Oak Hill Baptist Church, in Rydal, GA. Huston was also a member of Fairmount Masonic Lodge for over 65 years. He loved gardening, watching Andy Griffith, and the Atlanta Braves. Most of all, Huston loved his family.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Mrs. Claudelle "Two Mamas" Elrod, his parents, and sister.

Huston is survived by his three children; Jerry (Denise) Mulkey, Wilma (Randy) Erwin, and Vicki (Harold) Rader, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive. Huston is also survived by two special friends, Earl Rader and Rivers Roser.

A Celebration of Huston's life will be conducted in the pavilion of Oak Hill Baptist Church, Rydal, on Monday, June 22, 2020, at one o'clock in the afternoon with the Revs. James Surratt, Leroy Kelley, Reggie Temples and Forrest Leachman officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be: Blake Mulkey, Drew Bell, Seth Erwin, Taylor Lacey, Roger Moss and Danny Elrod.

The family will receive friends at the pavilion from eleven thirty in the morning until the service hour at the church pavilion.  Social distancing will be requested.
