Pastor Elsie Marie Ellis Pruitt, age 84, of Cartersville, GA, passed away on the early morning of Friday, June 12, 2020. She was the Pastor of Macedonia Pentecostal Holiness Church, and she peacefully left her earthly home to be with her Heavenly Father.

Pastor Elsie Marie Ellis Pruitt was born on February 12, 1936, to the late Elder Ellis and Farrest Geneva Wilkins Ellis. Pastor Elsie was the third of seven children born and raised in the Pine Grove Community.

Pastor Elsie married the love of her life McKinley “Cowboy” Pruitt Jr. on June 28, 1965. To this union seven children were born.

Pastor Elsie Pruitt was preceded in death by her husband on January 17, 2020; her parents; three infant children; stepson, Carlton Morgan; sister, Joann Ellis Sullivan; brothers, Clifford and Warren Darnell Ellis; granddaughter, Hilary Hobbs; nephews, Lanier and Ralph Ellis; and son-in-law, Douglas Tatum; aunts, and uncles.

She leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories, daughters, Kimmie P. Wade, Regina P. Tatum, and Aretha (Cedric) Pruitt–McClure; son, McKinley Pruitt III. She cherished memories with her grandchildren “Grandmoma” affectionately called by five of her six grandchildren; Misty Stephens, “Moma” affectionately called by LaToya Stephens, O’Neal (Chariah) Hendricks Jr., Heidi Hobbs, McKenze and McKinley Pruitt, IV; “Great Granny” affectionately called by her six beautiful great-grandchildren; Kelsei Ross, Skylar, Shanning, Shamar, and Skarlett Hendricks, and Mariah Brown; devoted brothers, Elder Elmer (Eloise) Ellis, Willie, and Braynard Ellis; nephews, Clifford Ellis, II, Daryl, and Andy Sullivan, Desmond and Dorian Ellis, Edward King, Greg Smith; nieces, Emily and Danielle Ellis, and Jessica King;  aunt, Bessie Wilkins; and a host of loving family and friends.

Homegoing Service will be on Saturday, June 20, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Macedonia Pentecostal Holiness Church, 18 Bell Drive, Cartersville, Georgia 30120, with Bishop Bobby Grier officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, June 19, 2020, from 6:00 – 8:00 P. M. at Macedonia Pentecostal Holiness Church. Arrangements by Willis Funeral Home,  Inc., 2011  Martin L.
