Dorothy May Bert, 80, of Cartersville, Georgia, passed away at 6:30 pm, Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at her residence.
 
She was born to the late August and Lyra (nee Powers) Brueggemann on August 12, 1942, in St. Louis, Missouri.
 
Dorothy married Raymond Eugene Bert on September 14, 1963 in St. Louis, Missouri; he preceded her in death on October 2, 2007. She then married Robert Bergeron in 2018.
 
Dorothy was an active member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Cartersville, Georgia. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends as well as playing cards and shopping. She was also always ready for an adventure and loved traveling. She spent a lot of time volunteering and helping others in the community.
 
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Robert Bergeron of Cartersville, GA; six children, Denise (Chris) Norton of Kansas City, KS, Danette Yarger of Acworth, GA, Dominic (Remonda) Bert of Carthage, TN, Donna (Joe) Rayman of Baltimore, GA, Douglas (Jodee) Bert of Laurinburg, NC and Diana (Trey) Weeks of Savannah, GA; two Brothers, Joseph Brueggemann (Pat Jett) of St. Louis, MO and Robert (Gloria) Brueggemann of Washington, MO; many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.  
       
She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Eugene Bert.

A funeral mass was conducted at 1:30 pm, Monday, November 7, 2022, at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Chester, Illinois, with Father Sebastian Ukoh officiating. A visitation was conducted for one hour prior to service time.

Interment will immediately follow in St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted a three o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, the 13th of November, 2022, in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Father Joe Aguino officiating. 

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family for two hours prior to service time at Owen Funeral Home. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
