Mr. Davis Edwin Chapman Sr., age 88, of Cartersville, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2020, at his residence. 

Mr. Chapman was born in Boones Creek Community in Salem, South Carolina, on March 23, 1932, son of the late Elmer Walker Chapman and Bertha Aloe Moss Chapman. Mr. Chapman was a member of Adairsville Church of Christ and a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Korean Conflict. Over the years he work for Lockheed Martin and Sears Roebuck Company. He loved his family and was an amazing husband, father and grandfather. He was a lover of Japan, an avid hill climber, and enjoyed dirt bike motorsports. His patient and gentle heart will be missed by many. Mr. Chapman was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Debbie Hopper; brother, Clyde Eldon Chapman; granddaughter, Reagan Leigh Chase; brother-in-law, Wendell Stephen Williams; and sister-in-law, Patti Penefield Williams. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Donna Jean Williams Darnell Chapman; children, Davis Chapman, II, Amanda Romine, Derrick Chapman, Tracy and Kenneth Machen, Kimberly and Richard Hogan, Sheila Darnell Bausch and Nowell Bausch, and Hanif and Nazlin Hirjee; grandchildren, Casey and Mandy Wade, Chris and Amber Chase, Dennison and Samantha Romine, Rachel Leigh Turner and Joey Turner, Nyaab Hirjee and Noor Hirjee; great-grandchildren, Kaley Wade, Kayson Chase, Everleigh Chase, and Ryker Davis Chase; sister-in-law, Betty Chapman; brother-in-law, Jimmy Williams; special niece, Debbie McClain and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 9, 2020, at 11:00 AM from the Adairsville Church of Christ with Min. Rick Lawson officiating. Private interment will follow in Georgia National Cemetery, Canton with military honors. The family will receive family and friends Thursday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the church.
