Arvil "Earl" Wolfe, age 79, passed away on October 6, 2021.
Earl was born on August 27, 1942, son of the late Henry C. Wolfe Sr. and Eva Mae Wolfe.
On August 28, 1962, Earl joined the United States Army for the next two years. He served proudly during the Vietnam War as a long-range missile specialist. A few years after, Earl met and married JonAnne Hancock. They spent the next forty-four years together before her passing in 2014.
Early in life, he served as a police officer for the Atlanta Police Department; thereafter he served as a detective for the Douglas County Sheriff's Department. Earl later became account manager for Barton's Security Service for over twenty years before his retiring.
Earl enjoyed spending his time watching the Atlanta Braves and smoking cigars. He loved to be outdoors and enjoyed fishing. Above all, he loved to spend quality time with his family and friends.
Along with his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his brother, Henry Wolfe Jr., and brother-in-law, David Patterson.
He is survived by daughters, Robbi (Phil) McNitt, Leianne (Aaron) Feldt, Tammi Shaw, and Judi Gazelle; sisters, Dianne Patterson and Eva Nell (Joe) DeLoach; ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many loving extended family members and friends to cherish his memory.
A memorial service for Mr. Earl Wolfe will be held at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, Georgia 30114, at 9:30am on Friday, November 12, 2021. The family will accept friends for visitation between the hours of five and eight in the evening of Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, Georgia 30120.
