Adrian Clinton Carnes, 91, of Cartersville, passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021, at Cartersville Medical Center.
Born on January 4, 1930, in Bartow County, he was the son of the late Percy Carnes and Gertrude Carnes. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Juanita Faye Carnes, and his sister, Eleanor Taylor.
Adrian was a devoted and loving husband and father. He was the most nurturing and protective father ever. He was a dedicated Christian and father and loved the Lord and his church. He loved being a grandfather and teaching his grandchildren how to do the things he was passionate about like gardening and nature. He would show his grandchildren how to plant the flowers and how to nurture and care for them.
Adrian is survived by his sons, Adrian “Ricky” Carnes and Clinton “Ted” Carnes; daughters, Priscilla Carnes Absher, Andrea Wilson and Renita Walker; grandchildren, Melissa Carnes, Melinda Trotter, Maria Courtney, Karen McSwain, Anthony Walker, Amber Walker Hickok and Anna Wilson; brother, Edward Carnes; and several great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home. His service will be held at Parnick Jennings Funeral Home on Sunday, February 21, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with Carl Nelson and Lyle Holladay officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Rose, Anthony Walker, Tracy Rose, Jason Trotter, Jason Rose and Bryan Hickok and honorary pallbearer, Curtis McGee.
