She was born Jan. 7, 1950, in Leicester, England, and had been a resident of Cartersville since 1971. Lyn was of the Episcopalian faith. While in Cartersville she was associated with Meryl Norman, was with WBHF and Channel 4 for a number of years and had lately been working with Pure Aveda. Lyn was a loving mother, grandmother and friend and will be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Baxter, and is survived by her children, Justin Rice of Kingston, Jonathon Rice of Taylorsville, Nicholas Charles White of Cartersville, Lindsey Frank of Benson, N.C., and Anthony William Hamilton White of Cartersville; her grandchildren, Trevan, Savannah, Britton, Jordan, London, Bella, Carter, Sophia and soon-to-be-born Madison. Also surviving is her mother, Maeve Monk of England; and her brother, Greg Baxter of Fairhope, Ala.; her life partner, Kevan Ward; and her close friends, Shelvy Murray, Linda Gail Bass, Cheryl Schiemenz and Faye Pope-Rhyne.
The family will receive friends at Roselawn from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, with a memorial service set to begin at 7 p.m. at Roselawn.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the Hope Center.
