He was a Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church of Alpharetta. He was preceded in death by grandparents, John Wesley and Clara Ingram Strain and John Luther and Sally Butler Armstrong.
He is survived by his parents, Myron and Marilyn Strain of Canton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jan and Chuck Butterworth of Dawsonville and Pam and Travis Stewart of Fairmount; nieces and nephews, Nicholas Butterworth of Dawsonville, Timothy and Jodi Podskoc of Fairmount, Ashley Butterworth of Dahlonega and Ancil Stewart of Fairmount.
The Strain family accepted family and friends on Tuesday, June 24, at Darby Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m., also on Wednesday, June 25, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The funeral service was scheduled for 2 p.m. on Wednesday from the chapel of the Darby Funeral Home with Rev. Jackie Stewart officiating. Interment followed in the Emerson Cemetery, Emerson.
