Adairsville found a way to overcome windy conditions and overpower North Murray, 4-0, in girls high school soccer play.

The victory is the ninth shutout of the season the Lady Tigers have authored.

Lance Hall, assistant coach, said the Lady Tigers had scored two goals early when rain and snow on Tuesday “made playing conditions interesting.”

Adairsville had opened scoring in the fourth minute when Katie Lawhorn scored off an assist from Haley Pittman to help the Lady Tigers grab a 1-0 lead.

In the eighth minute, Emily Sexuaer found the net unassisted and the Lady Tigers had a 2-0 lead.

Hall said rain and snow changed playing conditions drastically from that point until about the game’s 60th minute.

In the 64th minute, Natalie Sanchez scored on a Kaitlyn Webster assist to give the Lady Tigers a 3-0 lead.

Webster then scored off a Becca Ferguson assist to close out scoring in the game’s 76th minute.

The victory gives Adairsville an 11-1 overall record. It is 9-1 in Region 5-AAA.

Next up for Adairsville is Coahulla Creek in a region matchup. The two teams meet at 5:30 p.m. today at Tiger Valley.
