A Cartersville residence was lost in a Thursday morning fire.

Bartow County Fire Department Sgt. Lisa Hahn said BCFD stations 1 and 2 and Cartersville station 1 were dispatched to 967 Jones Mill Road at 9:38 a.m.

The fire began in the front of the home and determined to be electrical in nature, Hahn said. The single-family residence was a total loss.

No one was home at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported. Units were back in service at 12:40 p.m.

Three arrested in recent burglaries

Three people are arrested Wednesday night in connection with multiple burglaries at a salvage yard.

According to a press release from the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office, an unoccupied vehicle was found trapped in the mud in the entrance of Martin’s Auto Salvage on U.S. Highway 411 near the Bartow County and Floyd County line Feb. 19. Further investigation revealed, “numerous vehicles within the scrap yard had been entered and had parts removed,” according to the release.

Ronald Keith Angel, 30, of Taylorsville; Joshua Wayne Watson, 28, of Rockmart; and Lagrissa Marlene Miller, 22, of Rockmart were all charged with burglary. Investigators, after working with recovered evidence and people involved, charged the three suspects for their alleged involvement in burglarizing and stealing from the salvage yard on several different occasions.

The investigation is continuing and additional charges are possible.
