Late Monday night shots were fired near a home on Ga. Highway 293 in what could have been a drive-by shooting.

According to the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office incident report, a deputy was dispatched to the residence at approximately 11:27 p.m. The deputy met with a witness who said he saw a dark Ford Bronco drive past the residence and fire two or three shots. The witness said the vehicle left the area and took a right out of the mobile home park in the direction of Kingston.

One of the victims said she was inside when she saw a vehicle drive past and fire approximately five or six shots. The victim believed the shots were fired into the air. However, she did not know what kind of vehicle it was or who was driving.

A second victim said he was inside as well when he heard three to five shots fired outside. According to the report, he also believed the shots were fired into the air.

The second victim also told the deputy who he suspected in the incident. Earlier the same day, he said a man had items taken away from him and he was angry about the situation. The second victim said he did not know what vehicle drove by, but he did know the upset individual left in a gold Chevrolet Trailblazer.

Deputies checked the area for the suspect’s vehicle but did not find it.
