Elsie Juanita Watkins, of Acworth, passed away on Nov. 10, 2013, at Holmes Regional Medical Center, Melbourne, Fla., following an automobile accident while moving to Lake Worth, Fla., in Palm Beach County, to live by her daughter, Kristi Bomar.

Juanita was born on Jan. 10, 1926, in Englewood, Tenn., to the late Jewel McDonald and John Henry Zimmerman. A resident of Acworth for more than 40 years, she was strong and courageous, held lifelong friendships and maintained her sense of independence and optimism even after becoming paralyzed from a car accident 30 years ago.

Juanita is survived by her three children, Randall Gordon Johnson of Randolph, Va., Holly Melisa Johnson Maggart of Norcross, and Kristi Johnson and her husband Jim Bomar of Wellington, Fla.; her two grandchildren, Chase and Olivia Bomar; and her dog, Sophia.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
