East Paulding won the first two sets by scores of 25-14 and 25-18, as the Lady Colonels steadily improved their scoring.
Cass won the third set 25-20 score to close to 2-1.
Coach Alicen Webster said the third set, unfortunately, proved the high point for Cass.
“We played well our first three sets but then we reverted to not playing well enough to win,” she said.
Webster said Cass played particularly well in the third set. “We played as a team, and our players were able to place the ball where we wanted it to go,” she said. “We played [East Paulding] neck and neck throughout the set and we pulled it out at the end.”
She said Cass fell behind early in the fourth set and then was unable to recover.
“We got down, 7-0, and couldn’t get ourselves out of that,” she added.
