Cartersville will be kicking off its softball season today after the team’s scheduled Friday start in the Wildcat Tournament in Villa Rica was postponed due to rain.

Coach Rick Holsomback said the Lady Purple Hurricanes are scheduled to appear in three games today in the tournament.

“We play at 10 a.m., noon and 6 p.m.,” he said.

Also opening its softball season is Cass High, which visits Allatoona today at 6 p.m.

Woodland is scheduled to meet Kennesaw Mountain at 11 a.m. today in a scrimmage.
