Arrest made in Dec. car wash murder

Chief Thomas N. Culpepper of the Cartersville Police Department announced this morning that a Cartersville man has been arrested in connection with the Dec. 16, 2012, murder of Randall “RJ” Statler at the Sun-Glo Car Wash in Cartersville. After months of investigation, following numerous tips and leads, police have arrested Brettney Anwarr Moore, 26, of Cartersville.

Mr. Moore has been charged with murder and armed robbery. Police are continuing the investigation and are seeking a second individual in connection with the murder. When information becomes available on the second suspect it will be released.

Chief Culpepper stated, “Our investigators and officers have been vigilant on this case following every possible lead no matter how large or small. Persistence and hard work have paid off. The citizens of Cartersville can be very proud of these officers and their efforts to bring this tragic situation closer to a resolution. ”

Chief Culpepper went on to state, “On behalf of the Cartersville Police Department, I continue to offer our sympathies to the family and friends of Mr. Statler.”
