Arrests were made Tuesday in connection with the death of a 47-year-old Cartersville man on Sunday.

The Bartow County Sheriff’s Office reported Tuesday that investigators arrested a local man and woman after Danny Lamar Gravley was found dead in the bed of his truck along Red Top Mountain Road. Emerson police, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and BCSO did not believe that the incident had taken place at the same location, according to a BCSO press release.

A witness told police a white, four-door passenger car left the scene about the time of the incident.

Late Monday, investigators learned Gravely had died from a single gunshot wound to the head. It also was discovered Gravely had been last seen at his residence on Dogwood Place in Bartow County on Saturday night. Searches of the property yielded evidence that pointed to the murder having occurred at the residence.

Tuesday morning, BCSO investigators, a GBI agent and Emerson Police Chief Stan Bradley were at the Bartow County Jail when Tammy Lynn Murphy, 50, and Steven Mark Eller, 45, both of Cartersville, were arrested. It is believed that an argument at the residence where the three resided led to the shooting.

Murphy and Eller are each charged with murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, tampering with evidence and concealing the death of a person. Both are being held without bond pending a Superior Court hearing.
