Adairsville came from behind once to catch Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe, but that was not enough as the Lady Tigers lost their battle with the region front-runners in girls high school soccer action Thursday.

LFO took the 3-1 victory and left Adairsville with its second region loss of the season.

Lance Hall, assistant coach, said the Lady Tigers left it on the field and that’s all that could be asked of them.

“It was a great game,” Hall said. “Our kids played super hard, but they were just a little bit better than we were tonight.

“We had some opportunities, but we were a little wide or their keeper would make a really good save. You don’t want to be pleased when you lose, but our kids played their hearts out.”

LFO got the night’s first score in the 15th minute when a forward split two Lady Tigers and fired a shot from 18 yards out that found net.

The Lady Tigers fought back and answered in the 32nd minute when Victoria Davis scored off an assist from Haley Pittman to make it 1-1.

Six minutes later LFO scored again when one of its players took off on a 35-yard breakaway and found enough of an opening to get a shot off.
