Lady Wildcats suffer their first loss, 2-1

The Woodland Lady Wildcats, winner of four straight, saw they undefeated season come to an end with their 2-1 loss to North Cobb Friday night.

The Lady Wildcats’ (4-1) lone goal was scored by Keri Cagle in the first half. Lindsey Good got the only assist.

“We had our chances throughout the game, but we just couldn’t get the ball past their goalkeeper,” coach Kyle Morgan said.

It was 1-1 at halftime, but North Cobb went ahead with a goal a the 77-minute mark of the second half.

“I thought we could have stopped their scoring chance, but we played as hard as we could tonight,” Morgan said.

The two goals allowed by Woodland were also the first goals the Lady Wildcats have allowed this season.

In its first four wins, Woodland defeated Sprayberry, 1-0; Cedartown 9-0; Coahulla Creek 5-0; and Cass 1-0.
