The win raised the Lady Tigers’ overall record to 7-11 and gave them their second win in Region 5-AAA, in which they are now 2-5.
The Lady Tigers raced out to a 16-7 lead against Gordon Central, then outscored the Lady Warriors to enter the break with a commanding 34-16 lead.
Adairsville tacked 10 more points on to its lead in the third quarter, going up 54-26 after three quarters and finished the fourth quarter with a 10-9 run.
Leading the way for Adairsville were Julia Roberson, 12 points off four treys; Stefanie Kuhrt, 11 points, 8 rebounds; Cassidy Howren, 9 points off three treys; Victoria Davis, 8 points; Mallory Bramblett, 6; Mallorie Collum, 6; Paige Cole, 5; Kelsey Hice, 3; and Logan O’Neal and Taylor Weeks, 2 each.
Cartersville 65, Ringgold 18
Cartersville took over its game early and coasted to a 65-18 victory over Ringgold.
The Lady Purple Hurricanes trompled on the Lady Tigers, 17-7, in the first frame, then tacked on 16 points while allowing 3 to take a 33-10 halftime lead.
Coach Cindy Moore said the Lady Canes are at a different point in their season, trying to keep improving for the other region powers and, possibly, postseason play.
“It allowed a lot of folks to get some experience for us,” Moore said. “We’ve got a lot of folks who work hard for us and any time we can get them experience, we do.”
