Down by 11 points in the fourth quarter, the Adairsville Tigers fought back to defeat the Sonoraville Phoenix, 58-55.

The Tigers completed their comeback when Kyle Adams hit a 3-point basket with one second remaining in regulation.

Adams would eventually finish with eight points, while Austin Greenfield scored a team-high 11 points.

Canes 60, LFO 36

The Canes trailed 19-12 after a quarter of play and then didn’t give up that many points the rest of the game, which saw them improve their Region 5-AAA record to 6-0.

“We started out slowly but then went to a full court man-to-man defense and allowed just three points in the second quarter,” coach Mike Tobin said. “We were able to pick up our intensity.”

The switch in pressure worked so well that Cartersville went from a 7-point deficit after a full quarter of play to a 7-point lead by the break.

Leading scorers for Cartersville were Ryan Davis, who dropped 17 points on LFO, and Corey Tobin, who fanned the nets for 16.
