While Friday night’s game between Cartersville and Buford may have officially ended the high school football season in Bartow County, there is still plenty of high school sports left to be played.

Most notably boys and girls basketball and wrestling.

Basketball games scheduled for tonight include Cartersville at Sonoraville, LaFayette at Excel, Lithia Springs at Woodland, Cass at Dalton and North Murray at Adairsville.

On Saturday, it will be Excel at Mount Paran and Temple at Woodland.

The Tigers of Adairsville will be looking for their fifth win of the season when they host the Mountaineers. They are coming off a 64-53 win over Trion.

Still perfect are Cartersville with a 3-0 record and Excel, which is 7-0 on the season.

Looking to get back in the win column are the Cass Colonels, which are still looking for their first win of the season, while the Woodland Wildcats have lost three straight after opening the season with two straight wins.

For the girls, the Cass Lady Colonels are still in the hunt for that elusive third win. They only won two games last season.

Woodland’s Lady Wildcats, after an impressiven 34-31 victory over South Paulding, are coming off a rough weekend in falling to Hiram and East Paulding.

The Lady Canes, after dropping their season opener to Rome, have back-to-back victories over Ringgold and Cass.

The Adairsville Lady Tigers had back-to-back victories over North Paulding and Pepperell to open the season before losing three straight.
