The fire happened just after 9 p.m. at 831 Barnsley Gardens Road, a single-family home. Stations 1, 2, 7, 10 and 15 remained on the scene nearly two hours later.
BCFD officials reported there was extensive damage to the home, but that Barnsley Gardens Resort was not involved or affected as previously reported.
