According to the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office incident report, an employee of Hampton Inn said she was approached by a black male about 10 p.m. who asked for change for $1. When the woman opened the register, the man brandished a black handgun and told her to give him the drawer or he would “blow her [expletive] brains out.”
The woman said she handed him the drawer and he took the cash before leaving.
The deputy said the video showed the man enter the building wearing a light blue sweatshirt and dark pants. He was shown walking up to the counter and handing the employee an item. When the cash drawer opened, the man reached for an item on his right hip. The video showed the man take the cash with his left hand, which was covered with a white glove.
A search of the area did not locate the suspect.
