Lady 'Cats spoil Cass debut with late-game heroics

No longer region mates following the latest round of GHSA reclassification, the Woodland Lady Wildcats and Cass Lady Colonels showed Saturday that not much else has changed when it comes to their potent softball rivalry, which added another great chapter to the teams’ head-to-head history.

After looking for several innings as if it would claim a victory in its season opener, the hosts surrendered the tying run in the top of the seventh inning and Woodland rallied to win, 2-1, in the eighth.

Whatever fans payed to watch the contest, Lady Wildcats coach Colman Roberts reasoned it was well worth it.
