Mr. Stephens was born Dec. 22, 1941, in Bartow County, was a U.S. Army veteran, was retired from Goodyear Mills and was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Paul and Ida Lois (Evans) Stephens; his wife, Clara Ann (Strain) Stephens; and a brother, John Lee Stephens.
Surviving are his two sons and daughters-in-law, James (Del) and Britnee Stephens of Kingston, Brian and Irish Stephens of Hollister, Fla.; three grandchildren, Jeremy, Alliyah and Jackson Stephens; sisters, Esther Womack and Thelma Blackmon, both of Cartersville; a brother, Lester Stephens of Emerson and nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 16, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with the Rev. Brent Thompson officiating.
Burial will follow in Strain Family Cemetery in Emerson.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Neil Grier, Steven Grier, Tony Maynard, Mike Maynard, Michael Stephens, Robert Lanham and Josh Wiggington.
Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, is in charge of the arrangements.
