Zedick Mills, 84, of Highway 20, Cartersville, passed away Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011.

Mr. Mills was born Aug. 9, 1927 in Cherokee County, the son of the late Jack Harold Mills and Molly Elizabeth Hardin Mills. Mr. Mills owned and operated Mills Upholstery Shop for 42 years, was a member of the C.H.V.A., the Bartow Saddle Club and was a member of Oakland Heights Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Mildred Mathison, Margaret Davis, Linda Holbert and two nephews, Christopher Holbert and Vince Sullivan.

Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Lucille Tidwell Mills, his son and daughter in law, Eddie and Shelia Mills, grandsons, Zegan Mills and Matthew Evans, all of Cartersville, sisters, Eleanor Sullivan of Adairsville, Opal Powers of Calhoun, a brother, Zenick Mills of Calhoun, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 3, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Sammy Burgess officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 5 to 8 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Zegan Mills, Matthew Evans, Terry Tidwell, Tony Tidwell, Mike Kown, Ben Morris, Brad Cline and Freddie Gunn.

Owen Funeral Home, 12 Collins Drive, Cartersville, is in charge of the arrangements.
