John Bradford (Brad) Paulk, 65, of Wexford Circle, Cartersville, died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011.

Mr. Paulk was born March 14, 1946, in Jacksonville, Fla., a son of the late Billy Bob Paulk and Lois Hanley Paulk.

Brad was a member of the Cartersville Episcopal Church of the Ascension and served as principal of Kingston Elementary School and later as vice principal of Cass High School, before moving on to become the grant writer for Bartow County. His favorite hobby was playing tennis.

Survivors include his wife, Dovie Paulk; daughter, Luci Paulk of Rome; step-daughter, Melanie Parson of Euharlee; step-grandchildren, Mitchell and Justin White; foster daughter and granddaughter, Lisa Faith and Angela Faith; sisters, Laura Davis and Jane Kimbrel, both of Lawrenceville, and Beth Howard of Macon; brothers, Walter A. Paulk and Bill Paulk, both of Brunswick, and Pat Paulk of Lawrenceville; and a number of nieces and nephews,

Memorial services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, from the Cartersville Episcopal Church with Rev. Louis Tonsmeire and Rev. Mary Ericson officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Cartersville Episcopal Church of the Ascension or to the Zena Drive Senior Center.
