Mrs. Pye was born in Tyrone May 26, 1912, to Willie and Daisy Jones where she was raised and lived until she married William Pye August 1931, and moved to Fayetteville and lived here since. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband of 60 years. Survivors include son, Hoyt and Carolyn Pye of Cartersville; daughter, Harriett and Ronald Parham of Fayette County; four grandboys; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Margie and Billy Braswell; brother, Emory and Barbara Jones.
Mrs. Pye was a life long member of Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, belonging to Murphy Bible class and Fincher Ramsey Circle, also very active in volunteering in the Community Homemaker Club of Fayette County, voted Homemaker two times, member of William Sherrill Chapter of the Colonial Dames of the 17th century and also many years with the Fayette Co. election board.
Her manny hobbies were quilting, gardening, and canning her foods.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Jan. 17, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, burial inFayetteville City Cemetery. The family received friends Monday noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations maybe made to Fayetteville First United Methodist Church.
