Elder Reuben Clifton Martin, 75, of Detroit, Mich., formerly of Cartersville, died Dec. 14, 2010. Funeral services were held Dec. 21 at the New Saint Paul C.O.G.I.C.

Elder Martin was born in Cartersville on April 22, 1935, to Aaron and Ruby Martin. He was a 1954 graduate of Summer Hill High School. In August of 1958 while serving in the USAF he appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show with a vocal group known as the Pearls. After his honorable discharge from the USAF he returned to Cartersville, married and had two sons, Reuben and Martin.

In 1965 Elder Martin moved to Detroit, Mich., to work for the Ford Motor Company. In Detroit he married Missionary Marcella Jackson. There he also pastored the House of Miracles C.O.G.I.C.

He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving wife, Missionary Marcella Martin; two sons, Reuben C. Martin Jr. (Jillane), and Sebastian Martin (Michele); stepchildren, Brunetta Calvert (Ephriom), Jacqueline Jefferson, Constance Kline and Cornell Jackson; sisters, Ethel Johnson, Dorothy Miller, Catherine Martin, Marilyn Martin, Betty J.(Johnny), and Evelyn (David); brothers, Bobby J. Martin (Charon) and Ernest Martin (Mildred); 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
