Mrs. Griffin was born Oct. 30, 1921, in Dale County, Ala., a daughter of the late James Elbert Auston and Virgie Pistol Kensal Auston.
She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cartersville, was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and was retired from the then First National Bank of Cartersville that was later Wachovia Bank.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlisle Patrick Griffin; and her brothers, Cullen, Warren and Wyatt Auston; and her sisters, Cody Windham and Bobbie Williams, and is survived by sister, Novie Jewell Milcarsz of Acworth; and sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette and Edwin Averett of Geneva, Ala.; and a brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Anne Auston of Springfield, Mo.; and a number of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, friends and her church family.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, from the Sunset Memory Gardens with Rev. Ted Smith officiating.
Those wishing to make contributions in lieu of flowers may do so to the American Heart Association in Mrs. Griffin's name.
