Tonya Deann Kennedy, 41, passed away Thursday, May 10th, at Kennestone Hospital. Tonya was born on May 14, 1976, in Cartersville, to Jack and JoEllen Fowler. On March 3, 1995, she married the love of her life, Ronny Kennedy. Ronny and Tonya had two beautiful children together, Reece, age 11, and Tristan, age 9.
Tonya graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor’s degree in 1997 and obtained her Master’s degree there a few years later. She worked as the Controller for Anverse Inc. for over a decade. Tonya loved her family, her friends, her job, shopping, and 80s Hair Bands. She was an amazing person, who always marched to the beat of her own drum. Tonya touched so many lives and was loved by anyone lucky enough to know her.
Tonya is preceded in death by her grandparents, J.W. and Lucille Tidwell and Louise Fowler, a special uncle, Mike Smith and a special aunt, Mary Dell Huffman. She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Ronny Kennedy, their children, Reece and Tristan, her parents, Jack and JoEllen Fowler, her in laws Ronald and Shirley Kennedy, two sisters, April (Bill) Cline and Jackie (Shane) Hovatter, three nephews, Joshua, Jack Chandler and Jonah Cline, a niece, Sophie Hovatter, a very special friend, Wendy Harris, and countless special aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Celebration of Tonya’s life will be held on Thursday, May 17th, from 4:00-6:30PM, with a Celebration of Life Service from 6:30-7:00PM. All who loved Tonya are invited to join the family for this celebration, being held at Tellus Science Museum, 100 Tellus Drive, Cartersville.
