The Adairsville girls soccer team played well and didn't suffer any injuries, making Saturday's 1-1 draw on the road at Southeast Whitfield an acceptable outcome for the Tigers in a non-region game.
Cat Wheeler gave the visitors the lead in the 19th minute off an assist from Sadye Johnson. Adairsville (7-2-1) carried the 1-0 advantage into halftime, but Southeast Whitfield leveled the match in the 56th off a direct free kick.
An effective offside trap helped stymie the Adairsville attack and goalkeeper Havyn Isaac made 12 saves between the posts. However, Tigers assistant coach Lance Hall said a majority of Saturday's contest was played between the two 18-yard boxes.
Adairsville will look to return to the win column with a pair of Region 6-AAA contests this week against North Murray (Tuesday at home) and Ringgold (Thursday on the road). The Tigers will also play a non-region makeup game against Model on Friday at home.
