Larry Reese Smith, 75, of Cartersville, GA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family from Stage 4 Adenocarcinoma of the Esophagus.
Mr. Smith was a 33-year survivor of Lymphoma. After a brief battle with Adenocarcinoma, Larry passed away on January 26, 2020, at 6:25 p.m. at his daughter’s home. Larry was born to the late George Glenn Smith and Lillian C. Bolton Smith.
Larry was one of four children, growing up in Harrison, Ohio. He graduated from William Henry Harrison High School in 1963. He joined the United States Army 1963 and was stationed in Germany for three years. He worked at Cincinnati Gas & Electric/Duke Energy until he retired in November of 1999.
He is preceded in death by his father George Glenn Smith, his mother Lillian C. Bolton Smith, his sister Sally Smith Becker and his brother Dave K Smith, who passed away earlier this month on January 15, 2020.
His is survived by his sister Peggy Smith Foster of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, his daughter Dana Renee Smith Whitt of Cleves, Ohio, and his daughter Jana Marie Smith Thompson of Cartersville, Georgia, and his great-grandchildren and grandchildren Kadie J Wagner, Tyler Stamper, Ryan Stamper, Jona Marie Dangel, Kaleb Wagner, Henry Wagner. He is also survived by a host of friends and family here in Cartersville, GA, and Harrison, OH.
