Kenneth Clyde Wade, 69, of Cartersville, passed away on March 21, 2020, at Kennestone Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Cartersville, Georgia, on December 22, 1950, and raised in Emerson, Ken was the son of the late Rev. Clyde Wade and the late Mary Lou Wade.
A graduate of Cass High School and a U.S. Army veteran, Ken was in the textile and apparel business for many years, and also worked in multiple capacities for the Booth Western Art Museum. Before and after retirement, Ken bought and sold antiques and enjoyed nothing more than road trips to find hidden treasures.
A longtime member of Rowland Springs Baptist Church, Ken was one of those rare individuals who never met a stranger and practiced his faith through countless acts of friendship and charity, in ways large and small. He leaves a wealth of memories of his kindness, his sense of humor, and his never-ending support of his family and friends.
Ken is survived by his wife, Pat Wade, and by two children, Dawn Wilson (Ed Kilgore) of Monterey, California and Adam (Conilia) Wade of Cartersville; three grandchildren, Carsyn, Colton and Kynlee Wade; two sisters, Sandra (Bob) McMillan and Wanda (Jim) Hodge; and many extended family members and friends.
The family plans to hold a memorial service for Ken at a later date as conditions allow for a celebration of his life in which all may participate. Memorial donations may be made to the Rowland Springs Baptist Church Benevolence Fund for support of families suffering from the current health crisis.
