In its fourth month, 2019’s Euharlee Food Truck Friday will continue with Party of 5ive July 12. The concert will be presented from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at Frankie Harris Park, 175 Covered Bridge Road.
“Party of 5ive has performed nearly every year at this event,” said Katie Gobbi, director of the Euharlee Welcome Center & History Museum. “They come to us out of Rockmart and are now a four-person classic rock cover band.
“… Steve Schell, one of their members, said that they have a great set lined up for Friday. They've added a little country — Brooks & Dunn covers. They want to play a little something for everyone.”
To find out more about Party of 5ive, Gobbi recommends the public visit its Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/rockmartpo5/, where it states the band performs “classic rock and roll favorites, country and current hits,” and encourages the public to “come on out and ‘dance to the music’ and be part of the party.”
After a year’s absence, the Euharlee Food Truck Friday returned in April with Iambic Underground’s concert.
“This is our fifth year hosting Euharlee Food Truck Friday,” Gobbi said. “It began in 2014, but we took 2018 off due [to] infrastructure improvements and construction around the venue, Frankie Harris Park.
“It started because we were looking for another way to provide a fun, family-oriented event for our community. Food trucks were becoming very popular and the idea was born. This is one of our favorite events for our visitors and residents. It has become a staple for many people in our area that they seem to love.”
Taking place the second Friday of each month, the free concert series will wrap up with the Top 40 cover band, Smith & Weapons Aug. 9 and Old Mill Road Band Sept. 13.
“We have had a great turnout each month,” Gobbi said. “In April, we had about 1,000 people attend the event — higher than we have ever had before and more than we expected. Since then, we have made adjustments and added more trucks and vendors to accommodate the higher turnout. We have added a coffee and bubble tea vendor this year and a wider variety of food. A little something for everyone, we hope.
“A favorite moment so far this year is from our June event. The Donny Hammonds Band was performing and a group of people of the Hickory Log Vocational School were dancing up front, enjoying the music — and Donny came out into the crowd to play guitar and dance with them. It was beautiful to see and energized the crowd. It was such a fun night.”
