Ernest Bradley Norman, age 56, went to heaven on Tuesday, May 15, 2018.
Ernie was born on November 23, 1961, in Burlington, NC, son of Paul Ernest Norman, Jr. and Edna Mae Cheek Norman.
Ernie retired from the United States Marine Corps after proudly serving for twenty years. He was a decorated Desert Storm veteran who was awarded six Good Conduct Metals, just to name a few. After his retirement, he began his sixteen-year career with Lockheed Martin. During his time with Lockheed, he was awarded two very prestigious awards. The first is the Nova Award and the second is the AeroStar Award. These awards are presented to select teams and individuals who have made excellent contributions to the corporation's mission and business objectives. He was always known to be the one that makes things happen, take on new challenges and never accept anything but the best.
After fighting cancer for over two years, he continued until his last breath, fighting and thinking of others instead of himself. He never complained or questioned why he was suffering from a disease that took so much away. He lived every minute looking to do something for someone else in order to make their day better. He knew exactly what to say or exactly when to listen. If you knew Ernie, you always left with a great feeling. He continued this until his last breath on earth.
Ernie is preceded in death by his brother, Todd Norman.
He is survived by his parents; his loving wife of almost thirteen years, Pat Jordan Norman; son, Bradley (Amber) Norman; daughter, Britney (Nick) Goodwin; grandchildren, Coey, Caden, Victoria and River; sister, Cynthia (Michael) Parrish; nephews, Kyle (United States Air Force), Zach, Chris, Sebass; one niece, Sophia.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at eleven o'clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 22nd of May, 2018 at Stamp Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Cory Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the GA National Cemetery at one-thirty with full military honors presented.
