Child ejected in rollover, treated for his injuries

A 5-year-old male was transported to a nearby hospital after he was ejected from a vehicle during a rollover wreck on Interstate 75 Tuesday night.

At approximately 6:54 p.m. Tuesday, officials with Bartow County Emergency Medical Services responded to a call on I-75 southbound, just south of the Lake Allatoona Bridge. A vehicle had rolled over, which caused the ejection of the five-year-old male. Multiple units from BCEMS responded and found multiple patients when they arrived on scene. Upon arrival, the child was found with numerous cuts and abrasions but was conscious and alert. The child was transported to Kennestone Medical Center for further treament.

The other patient, a female, was trapped in the vehicle and required extrication. The Bartow County Fire Department extricated the female and medical assistance was provided. The female reportedly suffered massive trauma to one arm, and she was transported to Kennestone. The identities of both patients were not released.
