Charleen Fitzpatrick-Tillis, “Honey” to her grandchildren, world traveler and avid cruiser, never without a smile, died on Thursday, January 3, 2019.

Charleen lived life and showed us how it’s done. She was born on January 25, 1960 and I think had a smile on her face day 1. Charleen graduated from Marietta High School in 1977 and went on to graduate from Southern Polytechnic University. At the time, one of a handful of women willing to jump into the world of engineering. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering. She became Six Sigma Certified and went on to a great career finishing it with Colgate Palmolive as the North America Quality Specialist for Personal Care and Home Care products.

We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Charleen. The most important is to never give up, there is always hope for life and happiness. She was never without a smile or something good to say.

Although, if she did not agree with you she said nothing, forced a little smile and gave you the “look.”

Charleen was easy to love and was loved by many people.

Her first marriage to Wayne Harrison was a success in that she has two wonderful children, Michael Harrison (Wife Natalie) of Canton, Ga. and Melissa Lucas (Husband Michael) of Cartersville, Ga. She later met the love of her life Chris Tillis. Charleen and Chris created a life around adventure and family.

Together they traveled and experienced many different places around the world. They most liked to cruise, … and when they know you by name as you are boarding you’ve been on a few cruises. She really loved to cruise.

Known to her five grandkids as “Honey,” she was just that sweet, loved to take them on vacations. These were special times and put her in her most happy place. (Grandchildren; Cole Harrison 9, Pace Harrison 6, Kate Harrison 4, Carson Lucas 12 and Emerson Lucas 2).

Charleen also had five siblings. Debbie Fitzpatrick of Baltimore, Maryland; Robin Evans of Washington, D.C.; Gary Fitzpatrick of Dallas, Ga.; Mike Fitzpatrick of Cartersville Ga. and Valerie Austin of Dallas, Ga.

Her parents Robert and Valentine (mother deceased) Fitzpatrick of Marietta, Ga.
