Cathryn G. Leveen, age 97, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2019.
Mrs. Leveen was born on June 30, 1922 in Cartersville, GA, daughter of the late, Eulys G. Guyton and Julia Long Guyton.
Mrs. Leveen was a true and faithful servant of the Lord and a proud member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.
She retired from the Bartow County School System after more than thirty years of dedicated employment in the attendance office.
Mrs. Leveen is preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-nine, years, Donald E. “Lefty” Leveen; brothers, Hubert and Hugh Guyton; sisters, Florence Guyton, Mildred Kile and Dorothy Tallent.
Survivors include children, Rilda and Griffin Padgett, Julia and Rev. James Black, Lydia and Earl Hightower, ten grandchildren and their spouses, Beth Padgett, Becky and Forrest Leachman, Jonathan and Amanda Padgett, Laura and Mitch Altman, Hannah and Shane Bernstein, Andrea Black, Matt (Sierra) Hightower, Taylor (Laura) Hightower, Sarah (Carter) Brown and Anna (Lincoln) Leroy, great-grandchildren, Noah and Cora Lynn Leachman, Julia and Samuel Bernstein, Allison and David Altman; great-great-grandchildren, Kipton, Tenley, Jace and Nora; a number of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at three o’clock in the afternoon on Sunday, November 3rd, 2019, at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Padgett, Rev, James Black, Rev. Forrest Leachman and Jerome Black officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the church cemetery.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five o’clock in the evening until eight on Saturday, November 2nd, at Owen Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers are Griffin Padgett, Earl Hightower, Matt Hightower, Taylor Hightower, Shane Bernstein, Samuel Bernstein, Noah Leachman and Gary Boston.
