Cass sophomore Claire Davis and Excel Christian senior Rayshawn Womack each picked up first-team all-region recognition to lead a group of Bartow County basketball players honored by their respective league coaches.

Davis garnered a first-team nod in Region 7-AAAAA, while Womack was tabbed by those in Region 6-A.

They each had a teammate earn recognition, as well. Cass junior Londaisha Smith was a second-team choice. Excel junior Rashard Doyal picked up honorable-mention selection.

The Adairsville and Cass boys basketball teams, the only state-tournament qualifiers in the county, each had three players selected.

The Tigers had a trio of second-team honorees in Savaun Henderson, T.J. Printup and Jaxon Welchel. Meanwhile, the Colonels saw Zaylan Chaney pegged as a second-team selection to go with honorable-mention nods for Braxton Benham and Jordan Ford.

Cartersville had Kolbe Benham chosen for second-team honors in Region 5-AAAA. Kam Callahan was also chosen for honorable mention.

Woodland senior DiAnthony Heathcock earned honorable-mention selection in his final season.

Other girls basketball players to be honored were Adairsville’s Ji’Leyah Mitchell (second team) and Cartersville duo Lehla Thomas (second team) and Cio Seigler (honorable mention).
