A school bus carrying nearly 20 Woodland High students was hit leaving the Bartow County College and Career Academy on Grassdale Road Monday morning.
No one was injured, but according to the Georgia State Patrol, the driver, 17-year-old Zoreh Martinez-Sanchez, faces charges of hit and run, driving without a license and failure to obey a traffic control device.
According to a GSP report, the incident occurred at around 11:40 a.m. The bus was attempting to turn left on to Grassdale Road, when a 2002 Chevrolet Impala ran a red light. The bus struck the driver's side of the Impala, and the Impala fled the scene.
The bus sustained minor damage, but the Impala sustained "disabling damage," according to GSP.
Bartow County Sheriff's Office deputies discovered the Impala about two miles from the scene.
